Failure to comply with the rules shall result in corrective or disciplinary action as outlined in the Disciplinary Action Model.
Other rules (to be cleaned up)
Basic Rules
- Contact [email protected] for questions or to request classes. Sewing discord is also a good source.
- Training or test-out is required on all machines. Even if you are a pro.
- Do not sew on broken machines-
if a machine has a problem, do not try to fix it. Set it aside and grab another machine. - Bring your own consumables - fabric, thread, rotary blades.
- Sewing Studio Supplies: needles and bobbins.
- Believe the signs- signs elsewhere in DMS are not accurate. Signs here ARE accurate. *They will also change as we grow over the coming months.
- Leave it cleaner than you found it.
Item Specific Rules
- Bobbins: DO NOT BRING YOUR OWN. ‘Universal’ bobbins are being sold as class 15 bobbins. It is damaging machines. We have many for sale at cost ($1 for 2 bobbins).
- Needles: Use what you need. Needles are in the boxes next to the machines. If you break more than 1 needle per visit, you need to assess the needle type, materials, or sewing technique.
- Thread Types: Thread that is out is available for use, however it is donated. Sewing does not buy/stock thread. If you need a particular type or color of thread for your project, you must bring it.
- Babylock (spools)
- Pfaff/BCMG (will be by the BCMG machine, not there yet)
- Serger (cones)
- Draft Rulers. Do not use rotary cutters with the floppy 18x2 rulers.
