The Torrent 400 provides industrial-strength cleaning power for intricate parts that require a "hands-on" approach without the health risks of traditional solvents. Using a combination of heat, chemistry, and 500 PSI of water pressure, it can clean complex geometries , such as cylinder heads or transmission casings, in seconds.
How it Works
High-Pressure Cleaning: A foot-pedal-operated pump delivers a concentrated spray at 500 PSI, allowing you to blast grease out of blind holes and crevices.
Ergonomic Design: Users interact with the parts through heavy-duty integrated gloves while viewing the work through a clear, pressurized window with a built-in wiper.
Heated Aqueous Solution: The system uses an eco-friendly, water-based detergent heated to 115°F - 120°F to accelerate the breakdown of hydrocarbons.

Soft-Metal Safe: Generally safe for aluminum, copper, and brass, but keep an eye out. If your part looks "shiny" when it goes in but turns "dark/charcoal" during cleaning, stop immediately. This indicates the chemistry is too alkaline for that specific alloy. Report this to #Team_Automotive on talk so we can verify the current detergent's pH balance.
Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
Preparation: Check that the heater is active . The by spraying a small amount of liquid; the solution must be warm to be effective. To extend the life of the fluid, the majority of heavy grease should be manually removed (scraped or brushed) prior to placing parts in the unit.
Loading: Place parts on the internal grate. Ensure the heavy lid is fully latched all the way around before starting.
Operation: Activate the power switch at the front of the unit. Insert hands into the gloves and use the foot pedal to activate the spray. Use the internal brush or high-pressure nozzle to target heavy grime.Window Maintenance: Use the manual wiper blade if steam obscures your view, and agitate with an internal brush if needed.
Rinse & Dry: After cleaning, use the integrated air-blow gun to dry the part and prevent flash-rusting before removing it from the cabinet.

Cleanup: After completion, clean up the internal workspace and any brushes used. Ensure the lid is closed to retain heat.

Personal Protection: Because the unit is fully enclosed, it eliminates the risk of splashing chemicals on skin or inhaling harmful vapors. Note: Make sure to wear clean gloves when using the unit your hands are clean before inserting them into the machine's gloves to avoid contaminating the glovesglove liners.
