The class covers the basic Woodshop rules and how to properly use the free-standing machines in the Woodshop.   During the hands-on portion of the class, the student will take a rough-cut piece of lumber and surface it for use [simulating the process needed when working with rough-cut lumber].  The class is meant to cover the basics needed to use the tools safely, not becoming a master carpenter or complete mastery of the machines.
