I, Samuel Mitchell, am submitting my Statement of Intent to run for the Board of Directors.

I have been a member of the Dallas Makerspace for the better part of three years now and have seen this space grow and transform significantly over that period of time. I am also proud to say that I have been a contributor to said progress. For two years, I have been the chair of automotive and spearheaded the revitalization and organization of aforementioned committee to the point in which it has become indispensable to the space. Many people can attest to the transformation of automotive under my stewardship and ability to solve most problems with the car needs such as new tools, cleaner area, more organized and consistent classes whenever my schedule or the vice chair schedules are able to allow.

The transformation to the automotive area underneath my stewardship, should be proof of enough of my ability to transform the maker space into its full potential. My strengths lie in structure, organization, and creation of systems. When you know where the tools are, how to get the information in order to use them effectively for your project or concern, that puts you in a good position to accomplish your goals. 

Given the sheer amount of committees and choices we have here at The Makerspace, can leave anybody feeling overwhelmed and intimidated to the point of doing nothing. That’s where I come in. My goal, passion, and hobby is to create paths for people to create and grow. This will allow us to become the best version of ourselves. I aim to create a safe and efficient environment to complete the projects that cultivate and build a greater maker community
