Instructions: Per the Bylaws, each candidate for the Board of Directors must submit a signed Statement of Intent. There are no requirements on the content, but typically it includes your Name, Goals, and Commitments.

I, Megan Murray, am submitting my Statement of Intent to run for the Board of Directors.

Many of you already know my husband Mikael and I, as we are both very involved with the DMS community and are around the space working on projects and volunteering several days a week.

I am so grateful to have found Dallas Makerspace 4 years ago.  DMS is my happy place and it’s my goal to keep DMS a great place for makers to gather, work on projects, and share ideas.

I believe my actions and successes throughout my term this year speak for themselves regarding my commitment to the Dallas Makerspace.

These are just some of the things I accomplished while serving on the 2025-2026 Board of Directors:

1. Created a community newsletter that I consistently send to the membership on the 1st of each month.
2. Organized and led a team of volunteers to make the 15th Anniversary Party a success.
3. Re-started and recruited a consistent volunteer base to support Thursday tours.
4. Organized the 2025 DMS Holiday Party to help build community.
5. Initiated the EufyMake Demo Room conversations and supported the team in bringing new equipment, advertising potential, and additional revenue to DMS.
6. Organized an outreach booth at the downtown Carrollton Holiday event to reach potential new members.
7. Fostered a relationship with a media contact that resulted in a large article about the Dallas Makerspace being published in the Branch Herald.
8. Organized a team for a multi-committee DMS Glass Dress project that will be displayed in the Corning Museum Glass Art Fashion Show in June 2026.

Outside of DMS, I have been in Mortgage Servicing for 20 years and currently work for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development as a Loan Guarantee Specialist. I am a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, which teaches the core values of Integrity First, Service Before Self, and Excellence in All We Do.  If elected to the DMS board I will do my best to serve the Dallas Makerspace community with those same values.

I hope you will entrust me to continue representing Dallas Makerspace and its members in 2026!
