Scanner Rules
- Beware the Class 1 IR laser. Don't shine directly into eyes. Instruct face-scanning subjects to close eyes during scanning.
- Don't drop the scanner!
- Don't cross-thread the 1/4" tripod mount. Always turn the screw in reverse until the threads engage.
- Be careful when inserting the delicate USB connectors. Don't cross-thread the USB connector lugs - always turn the screw in reverse until the threads engage.
- When finished, pack the scanner neatly into its protective orange case.
- Protect the scanner and turntable from powders, foods, residues, etc.
- Training is NOT required to use the scanner. Online, self-service training is in-development. Please contact Evan Lott if you'd like to help write the Moodle course.
- Immediate report any damage, theft, missing pieces, or other issues to the 3D Fab chairperson, a board member, or an officer.
