  4. An hour after your print finishes another user may remove it and your filament.
  5. If you remove someone's print you must place it and their filament in Zone 1 Purgeatory and notify the user via the number they left that you are removing their print. You must also remove the calibration lines/blobs and erase the white board.

  7. Report printer malfunctions/issues on TALK (tag team 3D Fab @Team_3D_Fab)

Purgeatory (Purge + Purgatory)

This is a temporary holding area for 3D Fab

If the build plate of a finished print is room temp you can text the person, remove the print/filament and place them on the Purgeatory shelves

If a print has failed beyond fixing you can text them (include photo of failure), wait a few minutes for a response, and if there is no response, use the printer

Write the date and time you removed them on some tape or post-it note and put it with the print/filament one the shelves

If you see a print has been here longer than 48 hours, move it to the marked white Ikea shelves and text the owner you moved them (number should be on the filament spool if they are following the rules)

A chair/vice chair will purge the Ikea shelves when they come and they are not required to notify you

Consumables Cost

Pay for all filament/resin consumed, including supports and scrap. You must pay for the consumables even if your part didn't turn out how you'd like.

  • ABS filament (1.75mm ABS): 10 cents per gram (orange spools below the Polyprinters)
  • Donated Filament On White Ikea Shelves 1 cent per gram. Weight the whole spool and then subtract 185 to account for the cardboard/plastic spool.
  • Resin 20 cents per gram

(Note: These prices were accurate as of 12/14/2025. In the case of a discrepancy, the price on the payment kiosk is the governing price.)
