1. Steel and iron are the only materials allowed to be worked in blacksmithing
    1. Combining some metal dusts from tools such as the belt sander could result in a mixture that could react. i.e. iron oxide + aluminum is thermite.
    2.  Something like aluminum will not work with the tools we have as it requires much more pressure and has a much lower melting temperature.
    3. Wood/sawdust is sometimes an exception as its needed for some purposes.  It is especially important to clean up after yourself if you do anything with wood. If you plan on doing this you should post on talk to get specifics. **
  2. The kiln is only used for heat treating and annealing steel.
    1. Although melting metals is possible it is not allowed. **
  3. As with everywhere in the space please clean up after yourself after you are done.

** Rules that should be discussed at a committee meeting to provide clarification or specific reasoning.

These rules are subject to change as this is a first draft intended to just write down any rules of the blacksmithing area.
