Projects must be accepted by Chair, Vice Chair, or Committee vote before they may be moved into Vector.
Eligible projects:
- Vintage Machines Preferred
- low dust (All sawing or wood finishing must happen in the woodshop or south workshop)
- low smell
- footprint under 2x4ft
- machines prior to circuit boards preferred
We will work with you on an action plan before new projects are allowed to move in.

Project Requirements:
Working on projects in Vector is a privilege, and documentation of time spent on the project is part of the responsibility a project team leader takes on when they are awarded a workspace.
- Action Plan Submitted BEFORE project moved into Vector showing:
- Project Owner
- Project Owner Contact Info
- Type & Scope of project
- Project Team members
- Project Est Complete Date
- Fallback/removal plan in case of stall- especially important with heavy projects

- Project owners must create and maintain a project log
- Hours worked in research or outside of Vector area do count, should be logged
- Project owners must request help when they are stalled, or hit a hurdle their team cannot overcome.
- Vector wishes to help project teams! Unexpected complications are normal, and we will work to help!
- Projects that have no logged hours after 30 days will be marked as 'Stalled'
- A stalled project has until the next Vector meeting to:
- Work on their project, log it.
- Request assistance with the project from Vector Committee.

- Abandoned projects
- If a project shows no action 30 days after being marked stalled, it will be marked 'Abandoned'
- Abandoned projects must be removed from Vector before the next meeting.
- Abandoned projects that are not removed by next Vector meeting must be thrown away, they will not go to Purgatory.

- (Proposed, pending vote Nov. 2024 Vector Meeting) Cleanliness:
- Leave it cleaner than you found it.
- Projects must stay within their assigned area
- Visible trash- used paper towels, etc. must be thrown away before leaving for the day
- Leaking fluids- should not happen.
- Use drop cloth if needed
- Clean immediately
- Flammable/Toxic chemicals:
- Defined as a substance that requires storage in a flame locker or chemical locker
- Are not permitted in vector area.
- Parts may be taken offsite, to the appropriate area of DMS or off of DMS grounds for this
- May not be sored

- No power saws, power sanding
- Vector is located in a 'clean' workshop, and airborne dust will contaminate other Vector projects and the rest of the workshops.
- Manual Sanding/sawing is to be kept to a minimum, all dust must be vacuumed
