Science Sunday (3/9) - Eddy Current Penny Sorter
When pennies pass through a magnetic field, stronger eddy currents are induced in fully copper pre-1982 pennies resulting in a stronger braking effect. We also discovered that 1940’s wartime wheat pennies have less copper content (slowed more than a post-1982 zinc-cored penny but less than other pre-1982 pennies).
