Hello, I am Jayson Woods, and I am running for election to the DMS Board of Directors for 2023. My primary intent is to ensure that the organization continues to thrive as a vibrant and inclusive community of makers, fostering creativity, education, and innovation.
I'm committed to providing members with the resources and support needed to pursue their projects and interests, while also fostering a culture of safety, respect, and collaboration. I will strive to maintain a welcoming and accessible environment for individuals of all backgrounds, experiences, and skill levels.
Furthermore, I aim to strengthen our partnerships with local organizations, businesses, and educational institutions to further promote the growth of the maker community in Dallas and beyond. We will work to expand our outreach and programming to engage with more people and provide meaningful learning experiences.
In all our endeavors, we will prioritize transparency, accountability, and effective communication with our members and stakeholders, seeking feedback and input to inform our decisions and actions. My goal is to continue to be a driving force for creativity, learning, and innovation in the Dallas community and beyond.
Who am I?
I’m Jayson Woods … My DMS membership started in 2013 and because I have been around for so long it has giving me a good understanding of the history of DMS
For work I service and maintain Nurse call systems in hospitals. Previous to that my employment was with Texas Scottish Rite Hospital. I’ve been in the healthcare field for 10 years.
Outside of work I spend my time working with other organizations and have been a committee chair at DMS since 2015 in various committees . I helped keep DMS running during the pandemic by giving constant updates from the CDC, local hospitals, and other government agencies. I Helped DMS 3D print face shields for local hospitals and clinics. I just finished my term as President of North Texas Corviar Association (3 year term due to Covid). I'm currently the webmaster for Classic Chassis car club.

Jayson Woods has done great things for DMS including starting the Animatronics committee, running 3D Fab and as vice chair of Vector. Jayson has also done a lot of work for PR and was a huge help to the board during the pandemic.

I endorse Jayson Woods.
Despite being a wise ass, Jayson is a constant (and consistent) figure at DMS and always has the makerspaces best intentions at heart. He has proven an immense help, not only to the committee's under his name, but also to my committee and any others that need help.

I @swa, endorse Jayson because he knows how DSM works, and was active when it is extremely busy. As we grow and add more members, Jayson can draw from his experiences when DMS had 2000+ members and help us not repeat past errors, yet also help us embrace past policies that fostered this growth. Since he has been involved in numerous committees over the years, he has both the knowledge and wisdom to help guide them to best support our new growth spurt.

I endorse Jayson for the board. His service to DMS and the community has been extraordinary. Many people may not know this, but Jayson was a leader in our covid response, getting us access to the CDC hospital updates and facilitating our 3d printed face shield donations to numerous hospitals in the area. That sort of leadership is always a value to the community.

I endorse Jayson Woods - he's shown great initiative, even when it hasn't brought accolades, and wants what is best for the space.
