I, John Fabrycki, am submitting my Statement of Intent to run for the Board of Directors.

Being able to participate in the 2022 Board has been an incredible experience. I've met and befriended so many amazing and creative people at DMS that I would have never had the chance to meet if I was not on the Board. Also, seeing the amount of work that it takes to run an organization of this size is humbling. It's humbling because all that work is all done by volunteers! I cannot thank the volunteers enough!

Initially I was not going to run again. I have a life that I wanted to get back too and I want to figure out how to start selling my works. But after taking to so many others about running again, I have come to realize that DMS has become a big part of my life. And even though it is exhausting, it is a good exhausting and I can't think of anywhere else I would rather be at this time in my life.

I look back on my previous Statement of Intent and I feel that it still rings true to me. I am so incredibly grateful to all the people that have helped me get to where I am today that I think the best way to show them the respect I think they deserve is by helping others. This includes the current Board who I have immense gratitude too.

In this world where too many fan the flames of fear, the current Board has shown me how to ignore the distractors and focus on making DMS a place in this world where people can come to: learn, build, share, grow and so many other things.

Now that the lease has been signed, the expansion is back on so that will be my major focus this year. And I'll keep doing whatever I can to keep the lights on and fix whatever needs fixen.

Sincerely
John Fabrycki

  1. I endorse John Fabrycki for Board of Directors.

John has proven to be dedicated to supporting the Dallas Makerspace by promoting the facility, actively involved in repairs from damages caused tornadoes, and teaching classes.

    Thanks John!

  2. I fully endorse John. He is the type of person you need for the board. Works hard, is passionate about Makerspace, and takes a common sense approach to problem solving.

  3. I too, endorse John for re-election.  His tireless work ethic, can do attitude, and good nature make him a great board member.

  4. I @swa, endorse John Fabrycki.  As Woodshop Chair I have found John, who is also fellow woodworker, to be very supportive of our effort to increase membership activities in the woodshop area.  It is always helpful to have someone on the board that understands the distinct needs of a specific committee area.

P.S. I understand that he is currently offering campaign swag in the form of kittens.  If you require a little extra incentive to vote for him there could be a little black kitten in it for you.

  5. I endorse John for the board. He has been an amazing board member this past year and his continued service to us is a great value to the space.

  6. I endorse John Fabrycki  for board. It's been great to watch him grow from woodshop to watching over the entire space this year. His continued leadership should be greatly welcomed.
