I, Robert Stolte, am submitting my Statement of Intent to run for the Board of Directors.
I am running because I want to invest in how Dallas Makerspace functions day to day and in how it continues to build on what already makes it strong.
I bring clarity, sound judgment, and a steady, calm presence, especially in moments that require alignment and thoughtful decision-making.
Dallas Makerspace is full of capability: the tools, talent, skill, and willingness are all here. These strengths reach their full potential when the member experience is consistent, navigable, and worth returning to week after week.
My time at Dallas Makerspace has been hands-on, learning processes, certifications, and many talented people. I’ve seen how small points of friction can slow people down, and how clarity can quickly restore momentum.
I am grateful for the foundation already in place and see this role as an opportunity to build on it.
If elected, I will focus on:
Simplifying the path to get started and reducing barriers to progress.
Clear pathways from orientation to confidence help members integrate quickly and contribute to long-term engagement.
Supporting the leaders who make Dallas Makerspace function effectively.
Committee chairs, instructors, and volunteers carry a tremendous load. I will support systems that respect their time, amplify their impact, and give them a voice.
Strengthening how work gets done to support steady, sustainable progress.
By reducing unnecessary friction and ensuring strong alignment between decisions, communication, and execution.
Sustaining financial strength with clarity and discipline.
Supporting clear visibility, thoughtful prioritization, and decisions that balance growth with long-term sustainability, ensuring resources consistently serve both the mission and member experience.
I am running with a commitment to listen, ask good questions, and follow through on the work that makes a difference.
I am committed to giving back what has been so freely given to me. I’ve been helped many times, often by people who simply noticed and stepped in. That kind of generosity is deeply affirming and reflects what makes this community special.
I would be honored to serve and help steward the continued strength of Dallas Makerspace.
