I, Samuel Mitchell, am submitting my Statement of Intent to run for the Board of Directors for the 2026 tenure.

Since 2023 I have had the online privilege of being a member of the Dallas Makerspace. I have also had the extreme privilege of being on the DMS Board for the 2024 to 2025 session.

I am happy and proud to say that DMS has become my second home as many of you can attest to noticing how much time I dedicate to making sure that as many members are heard and taken care of as possible. I only want to see the space grow and develop into its full potential. and am proud to say, we have taken major steps in my first tenure as board member towards that very goal! 

Under my stewardship while serving on the board this past session I have successfully

1. Relocate and completed the expansion of automotive
2. Acquire and install a second lift for the expansion of automotive
3. Assisted in the development of beautifying the Makerspace as a whole
4. Greeting every single new member as much as possible, and ensuring that they are welcomed and heard.
5. Assisted in the renovation and expansion of infrastructure/logistics that is needed to take the space to the next level
6. Successfully organized, multiple auctions as well for broken and/or old equipment that we no longer use as well as raised funds for the space.

I have learned so much and gone through so much development and growth which has helped me evolved
into a more responsible, empathetic, and competent leader. I want to continue that growth and ability to serve the community and space as a whole! There is still so much to do and I look forward to taking on and accomplishing those challenges with you all.
